  1. Eat a garlic supplement - shown in one study to reduce incidence and severity of colds.

  2. Eat yoghurt or take a probiotic for good gut health and better immunity.

  3. Take a sauna. A 1990 Austrian study showed frequent sauna visits resulted in half as many colds.

  4. Exercise frequently. Regular exercise can boost killer immune cells by 50%-300%.

  5. Vitamin D can prevent colds - a deficiency of this vitamin may be one reason why we get more colds in winter.

  6. Consider taking a low dose of echinacea for a few months in the lead up and through winter.

  7. Lactoferin is a compound found in our immune systems. You can get it in supplement form.
