● Try to avoid using commercial antidandruff preparations. Not only are they expensive, but their overuse can actually worsen the problem.They can trigger a condi- tion known as reactive seborrhoea, where the scalp produces more oil and the skin flakes faster.
 
● Boil 4 tablespoons dried thyme, which has mild antiseptic properties, in 2 cups water for 10 minutes. Strain, then cool and pour over clean, damp hair. Do not rinse out.
 
● Massage the scalp with apple juice – its natural fruit acids will help get rid of dandruff.After massaging, shampoo your hair then rinse with apple cider vinegar, which acts as both an exfoliant and an astringent.
 
● Add 10 drops tea-tree oil to 1 cup strained black tea.Work the mixture into the scalp. If possible, leave it in your hair overnight before washing it out.
 
● Restore sheen to your hair and relieve an itchy or over-dry scalp with a vitamin E treatment. Simply prick 1–2 vitamin E capsules. Squeeze the oil onto your fingertips and rub the contents directly onto the roots, then massage it gently into the scalp.
