10 Ways to Make Mum Feel Special
Treat your Mum like a queen this Mother's Day with simple gestures that won't break the bank.

1. Take charge of the kitchen for the day. Start by bringing Mum breakfast in bed, followed by morning tea and a family lunch. Try serving up eggs benedict with yoghurt hollandaise sauce for brekky.
2. Hire all Mum's favourite films and host a video night in her living room. Bring along popcorn, ice cream and a box of tissues for the tear-jerkers.
3. Take a trip down memory lane with a family slideshow. Dig out the old slide projector and photo albums or scan in old pics to create a photo slideshow on your PC.
4. Steal Mum's apron and marigolds to clean the loo, run the washing machine and conduct all those cleaning jobs that no mum should face on Mother's Day. Add extra little touches like a bunch of flowers in the kitchen and a candle in the bathroom.
5. Throw her a Mother’s Day afternoon tea/ cocktail party. Invite all her best female friends around and serve scones, tea, champagne or cocktails.
6. Go on a Mum’s day out – just the two of you. Pick somewhere that you both enjoy – maybe you both love bushwalking, shopping, or a trip to your local garden centre.
7. Allow Mum some space! Drag the rest of the family out for the day so Mum can put up her feet and really relax.
8. Give Mum an exciting experience – try horse riding, sea kayaking or hire an instructor to teach Mum and Dad how to Salsa.
9. Bake her some healthy desserts like a batch of gingerbread cupcakes with ginger glaze.
10. Create a Mother’s Day DVD. Ask each member of your family to talk about why Mum is so special. Edit and present it to Mum on Mother's Day.
